This is a dream I had last night, and this is what I wrote as soon as I woke up. I have never had such a dream that began and ended, if you catch my drift. I always have dreams that begin but morph into another one, and another one, and so on, and never really concludes. This one didn’t conclude as such but it left me frightened after I woke up. Here it is, as a sort of account:

A family sit in a busy children’s play park (Mother, three sons [one of which was me, I’ll call myself the main son], daughter-in-law, grandson)The daughter-in-law and her husband (one of the sons [my brother]) asks their son to speak for everyone as he has only began to start talking.Everyone is amazed and the main son (me) holds his nephew and asks him to say things for him.They all seem quite happy.It is a bright sunny day but suddenly it begins to become very dark.Everyone is puzzled and looks upwards. The sun is being blocked out by the moon, and everyone looks in awe as they see a total eclipse, that they never knew was to happen. The main son says to his nephew, “Wow, you’re first total eclipse!”

It passed in minutes, only to return. People start to panic as they wonder what is going on.The sun begins to vibrate in the sky then suddenly begins to spiral and plunge towards the earth.Before it hits the earth, as it would seem, it completely disappears plunging everything into darkness.Seconds later, the “sky”, or just the plain of vision in front of the people rips open. It begins to open out from side to side showing slightly faint golden light shining on the people. It tears the “plain” until it becomes a golden sheet encompassing everything in front of the people, like a giant gate entering into the unknown. It appears to be in front of everyone but is actually hundreds of miles away.Everyone begins to be sucked into the gate. They may try to restrain but an unknown force motions them and they drift towards this gate. But it is not just the people in the park. Thousands and thousands of people begin to appear from every direction as they too move towards the gate. The land has become flat, no mountains or hills, nature seems to disappear from around them as all they see is a flat plain and a hole giving off golden light which must be hundreds if not thousands of metres high and wide.Thousands of screams and tears are heard from everywhere.A trumpet blast is heard that is so loud, it vibrates the very golden light that is coming from the gate.As you look around, the millions of people who are now all being tugged in are beginning to change. A faint light shines from each person and separates itself from the person’s body. The body disappears into the darkness behind them but the light becomes the person’s former self, as if nothing had happened.People begin to realise what this is.It’s the end of time. Everyone is being judged for eternity in either heaven or hell. Tears are heard from everywhere. While some must feel this is a joyous event, most are scared to death that they will be damned forever in the fiery torment of hell.Families seem to regroup. Family members that may have been thousands of miles away are now being grouped together as they hug and kiss each other and cry as they all feel this is the end for everyone. As you look around, people see their friends and call out to them, wailing with sadness.

Our family are now reaching the hole. They think that this is judgement day. And they feel this is it, they will not be allowed into heaven for their sins on earth. Thousands of voices begin to chant different prayers in different languages as they cry for the Lord to save their souls.  People begin to confess their sins to the above and pray for forgiveness.Our family are now about to enter the hole and huddle together, kissing and hugging each other hoping that this isn’t the end for them all.They go through the heat of the gold light and emerge on another side. What they see is surprising.They see a huge city-like place with millions/billions of people to be seen for hundreds of miles. There are deafening cries, cheers, evil laughs and heraldic singing all drowning out each other. As you look around, you see not only those of the present day, but people obviously from across time appearing from the other side of the golden gate.

The sky is grey as are most of the buildings. There is smoke and soot everywhere to be seen. Things fly across the sky and as they collide, electric blasts appear. Some come close and you can see that there are angels and demons fighting in the sky. On the left hand of the sky, a white brilliant light can be seen that is easy to look at without being blinded. There is no evidence of a sun. On the right, the sky turns black with tints of red and occasional blasts of fire into the sky.

The people are sucked even further into this dismal city. People are squeezed together as they drift further down a hill into the depths of the city. Families remain together through this and they still console each other and wish this was not happening. People still pray and confess their sins.

Going down this hill of people, the traffic suddenly breaks off into two directions, one to the right and one to the left. A lone greyly dressed man stands in the middle of the break in the road and orders people to go either side. Whether they want to or not, as soon as he says they will go to one side, they are brought to whichever side against their will. As it gets to their turn, the family are split up. As they drift to either direction they scream and try to reach out for one another. The main son, his mother, father and two younger brothers are together. They drifted on towards a road which had tall grey buildings on either side. They seemed to slow down and the road led them down to a huge gate (more like an arch but I had “gate” in my mind as I dreamt) where an angel sat on the left side and a demon on the right. The angel was a muscular man dressed in white who beat his wings slowly as he sat and observed with a radiant smile. His hair glowed golden. The demon however was a thing creature with bones sticking from his limbs. His eyes were black and he foamed from his mouth as he cackled. More gray clothed men stood around the front of the gate and asked that each person would separately go through the gate. This happened quite quickly.

As you watch, you see each person separated from their family and enter under the gate. Most people simply passed through and joined another crowd of huddling humans that drifted on down another road. Some that passed began to glow a brilliant light, they turned round with tears of joy and had a brilliant smile and they ascended toward the angel who then touched them. Immediately they vanished. Some who went through burst into flames and disappeared, as the demon cackled.

When the family came to the gate, each one went through and each simply passed through the gate and joined the people on the other side. They sped up as they drifted down another road. It then broke off again into two, and they were separated again. Now only the main son and his mother and one brother were together. They got to another several gates which were not guarded by angel nor demon.  As they passed, they saw on the right side (behind a tall fenced gate) people being lined up as a greyly dressed man asked them to place their hands upon a block of wood, as each person’s hands were chopped off. They all screamed in pain and tens of hundreds of people huddled with no hands screaming at the top of their voices. They soon each disappeared into flames.

Those who remained of the family came to the gates and all passed through without glowing brilliantly or being sent to the right by the greyly dressed man on the other side of the gate.The road began to get steeper and the air became hotter.  The streets became narrower. The next gates approached and they managed to stay together without being told to go down another path. On the right you could see as one by one, people got their tongues cut out as they tried to scream then vanished into flames.

The first son went through and then the second. They turned round to see their mother come through but she was stopped and pushed toward the group that were being punished by getting their tongues cut out. The two sons screamed for their mother and began to cry as they watched her tongue being ripped from within her mouth as she burst into flames. The two brothers hugged each other and cried. One of the sons shouted into the sky “WHY?!” but at that moment, they came to the fork in the road and he was swept along a different way.

The main son was now alone. He looked around as still thousands of people screamed and wept as they went further down – steeper, hotter, narrower. Another gate approached and to the right could be seen hundreds of naked people having their genitals destroyed by a lot of different ways. Women were being axed, men were being chopped. They screamed and disappeared into flames. The son passed through the gate and made his way further into the depths. The soot in the air got thicker and everyone began to cough as they choked for breath.

The next thing I remember was the last gate. I (the main son) passed through the last gate and entered into the “heart” of the city. At first there was a huge square. It was filled with people who cried and sat at the sides of the road and begged for people to save them. I saw many of my friends and I talked to them. We just wanted to be saved but my friends could not believe in this all and I had to leave them. It seemed like I was just in a terrible city plunged years in the future that had been ravaged by war. No-one told me why I was here and I felt this must be purgatory – worse than my previous life but not hell. In this purgatory I still felt hungry and thirsty but I couldn’t get anything. There were “shops” at the side of the road were people flocked to for food or drink but couldn’t get it. I was able to get into one shop and found a bottle of water. I picked it up and drank it. At that moment, I turned and an evil huge man said, “Who drank my water?!” He pointed at me and said “Was it you?!!” I can remember thinking to lie but I said, “What’s the use? I’m here because I cannot be virtuous.” I confessed to him that I had taken it and I begged him to forgive me. The man smiled and began to “shrink” and simply said “I forgive you”, then he vanished.

I was puzzled. I began to just walk, aimlessly as I came to a street filled with people having sex. This including all the people I once knew that I had found sexually attractive. They beckoned me to join them. They were all beautiful and in my mind I wanted to, but I thought, “This is not as God would want it”, and I turned to walk away. I looked back and they disappeared. As I turned back I say a brilliant golden light and felt warmth and…

I woke up at that point.

It was an amazing dream and I felt it was really happening to me at the time. I’ve never had such a vivid dream and especially not one that I could recount hours after having it.
