We are the disease that will destroy itself

Mankind has become its own biggest nightmare. With the rise and rise of capitolist corporations we can only become more profit orientated and will soon stop at nothing to secure our own future and high standard of living. If these things are threatened we take it upon ourselves to seek out justice to an end of our own means, yet if the life of a loved one is threatened we simply remove ourselves from the environment of the threat. For too long the Western world has looted and plundered our mother Earth. The only thing keeping us from destroying our planet completely right now is the potential threat to our own future security. We think nothing of wiping out entire species for our gain and we stop at nothing to make ourselves higher in the chain of living standards. While millions die each day of diseases that doctors can cure and of famine that the West could prevent the only ones that care are the ones that stand to lose little by helping these people. Corporations refuse to give up wealth which they are needless of and only seek to stockpile safe in the knowledge that they are not as bad off as the people from the other side of our planet. It is mans greed that is destroying the human soul, ending the lives of the innocent and fuelling the aggression of industry and death. It is mans greed that will overrun our entire planet, leaving nothing but a trail of destruction and vile pollutants in its wake. It is mans greed that will ultimately lead to the untimely end of the human race and possibly our mother, provider and carrier. We are the disease that will destroy itself.

Nice, very nice. I like it. Let me ask you a question: do you think we deserve it? Each and every one of us? Because I’ve seen hypocrisy going through the roof when people told me about the sins of mankind and then praising their loved ones - which are, how interesting, of the same dreadful race. Sometimes I think of the Apocalypse, and almost every time my thoughts end with the same question… Can you guess what it is? You should.

We’re all very familiar with the bad things you mentioned above. But isn’t it written somewhere deep in human genes - be strong and advance in order to preserve your existence? I’m pretty sure that dolphins, given the intelligence, mind and emotions of humans, would act exactly like mankind does today. However, they swim freely (more or less, that is) in the polluted oceans and will probably die out some day, and we’re the species infected with the curse of intellect, damned to become our own demise. Isn’t that ironic?

It’s funny, Mind boggleing, but funny. To think, could we have taken a different path?
