the apocalypse will occur as follows:

russia is in a fucking mess. just wait. riots, governmental and financial collapse, racial and national tensions - finally, civil war.

then….

some freaked out fanatic (maybe communist, maybe fascist, maybe a religious zealot) will end up in control of a russian icbm base. then this mind-blown moron will fire off the goddamned things, setting into motion a chain of horrific (and darkly comical) events which will end in the total annihilation of modern society. we will be thrown into a depopulated state of chaos and anarchy.

it will be very unpleasant. and all because the stupid soviets couldn’t figure out how to make an economy work. idiots.

that’s the apocalypse. not very romantic or glorious, but given human history, its quite likely.
