Your only apocalypse is your own death. We possess no sufficent evidence to support a belief in an “end time.” The writings of long dead prophets to show us the time of the apocalypse are of no help.
They are always vague in their descriptions of the end time and thus we have numerous people attempting to describe a destruction of the world over and over again through history. Yet we all know that they have failed numerous times to deliver the end time. The prophets are also always claiming divine inspiration yet we have no way of determining whether it is a god, devil or mere human error that speaks through them. The prophets are also sometimes just wrong.
Such as when Jesus said that he would come within the lifetime of his followers bringing with him his Kingdom. And yet that dream is no closer to realization today than it was 2000 years ago. Why does this strange practice of apocalyse stay alive? Because it is really hard to disprove an event that is supposed to happen in the future. But remember fellow webwatchers the burden proof is with the man making the claim not the one he is trying to convince. On first showing the theories of Islam; Evolution; Astrology and Holocaust Denial are all on the same footing. It is only through evidence/proof that one can show that the only “viable” theory among these is evolution.
So what do we do with all of these prophets telling us of the destruction of the world? We listen politely to their claims but we demand evidence for their strong beliefs. If they cannot do much more than point to the writings of a long dead prophet who speaks of dragons and angels as real things, then we must simply shake our heads and move on with the business at hand. Life is too short not to move on. For we know of only one certain apocalypse and that is our own death.

You are wrong when you say that the prophets and Jesus were wrong. They are right and will ever be right.
The prophets of old were ordinary human beings representing a great supernatural force: God. Because they are humans and we are humans too, they interpreted spiritual messages to us as humans and we in turn understand these messages as humans too.
But the truth of the matter is that the Apocalypse is true, as true as the sun is shining on us. God is true, Jesus is true, the prophets of the bible are true.

The Bible is not false. And the reason why christians have faith is beacuse Jesus teaches us to. the appacolypse is not propaganda. It will happen and hopefully your dark soul will see the light.

This right here is what causes the ultimate war… Death and Destruction is always spawned from belief… From what people BELIEVE to be true… All truth contains some ammount of opinion… Wars are fought because two sides believe they are each doing something righeous and they believe the other side to be evil… No one can ever admit they are wrong… Even for the sake of preserving life…

HAS ANYONE IN HERE ACTUALLY HAD VISIONS OF FUTURE EVENTS? I’VE HAD SOME PRETTY WEIRD STUFF HAPPEN TO ME WITHIN THE LAST FEW YEARS. I DON’T LIKE TO ADMIT IT SO I CAME TO WHERE I CAN BE DISCRETE AND MAYBE FIND SOME ANSWERS. I’M ALL FOR THE VALUES OF SCIENCE, BUT IT’S STARTING TO HAPPEN MORE OFTEN. OPINIONS ARE GREATLY APPRECIATED WHETHER THEY BE POSITIVE OR NEGATIVE.
i have not found any information on my sights as of 1/23/2005. p.s. i know nothing of religion personnally, i could also be crazy. if anyone knows what it means to see the same numbers three times please let me know. i see 1:11 2:22 etc, all the time. even when i drive down the road unknowingly i’ll happen to look at a house and it’ll have three of the same numbers in it. i await an answer.

“Dupree” - Jesus did not say “he would come (back) within the lifetime of his followers, bringing with him his kingdom.” He did say that “all these things would come to pass within a single generation” He didn’t specify what generation.
“Blinded” - I would suggest to you that you are making a mental note of all the “meaningful” numbers you notice, and just ignoring or forgeting the “insignificant” ones. You’re not crazy. It’s human nature to try to make sense out of chaos and find meaning in our lives. You can find the true purpose for your life in the Holy Bible.

Think of it in terms of how many religions there are, and your saying that if you dont belong to the christian religion, you go straight to hell. Thats complete foolishness. nearly EVERYBODY WOULD GO TO HELL, if that were the case.
